Highlight of UFC middleweights (up to 83,9kg), Paulo borrachinha caused controversy when he gave his opinion on the alleged rape case narrated by boxing legend, Oscar De La Hoya. Former challenger for the Ultimate belt, the Brazilian divided opinions when he commented on the boxer's report in a publication made by 'Ag.Fight', on Instagram.

The Brazilian's controversial comment came after Oscar's outburst, in an interview with 'Los Angeles Time', when the veteran claimed to have been sexually assaulted. The multi-time boxing champion stated that the crime had happened when he was 13 years old.
“I was raped when I was 13, by an older woman. (I was 13. I lost my virginity by basically being raped. I was in Hawaii, I think at some tournament. She was over 35 years old”, said the boxer at the time.
Borrachinha's opinion divided opinions in the publication. While some supported the Brazilian's text, others did not like the statement. Hours later, the middleweight responded to some of his critics.
“Generation of 'aboiolado' frescoes, there are many here commenting. Girls, become a f*cking man”, concluded Paulo.
Controversy aside, Borrachinha's commitment has been confirmed by the UFC. On October 23, the miner faces Marvin vettori and, if he wins, he can qualify for a new fight for the middleweight belt.
