“I'm not happy about it. I was number 10, I defeated number nine, but not just anyone. It wasn't on points, or split decision, or even. I say I blow people away. That's what happened this weekend. When you defeat someone like Edson Barboza and it's number 10, it's number nine, you don't just advance one position and arrive in eighth. I need to be in the top 5”, said the fighter.
No UFC Las Vegas 35, Chikadze once again put on a show in the Ultimate Octagon. In addition to being one of the most feared athletes in the category, the fighter defended his invincibility in the organization.
With the triumph over Barboza, Giga reached 14 victories as a professional in MMA. The combatant was defeated on only two occasions.
After overcoming Edson, Chikadze offered to be a reserve for the clash between Alexander Volkanovsky e Brian ortega, who will compete for the division title on September 25th. In addition to the request, the fighter also made himself available to face the group's former champion, Max Holloway.
