Businessman claims that Masvidal 'is not avoiding anyone' and should define his future in the coming weeks

There is much speculation about the next steps of Jorge masvidal in the UFC. At 36 years old, the veteran is coming off two consecutive defeats in title fights against Kamaru Usman and is the target of big names in the welterweight division (77 kg) due to his selling power.

According to the fighter's manager, Maki Kawa, Masvidal is ready to return to action and should define his future in the coming weeks in a meeting with UFC representatives in Las Vegas.

“We’re trying to see what the next steps are. We have many options. We need to go to Vegas and meet with the UFC, we are planning to do this in the next two weeks to define its future”, said the businessman in an interview with the North American website “MMAJunkie”.

Since his last appearance in the Octagon in April of this year, Masvidal has seen his name linked to many others in the welterweight division, such as Leon edwards, Nate diaz, Gilbert Durinho e Vincent Luque. According to Kawa, Masvidal is not avoiding anyone, but the objective is to choose the quickest path to a new title fight.

“We are looking for the fight that makes the most sense to get back on the belt path. All this talk of 'oh, he's avoiding this guy, he's avoiding that guy' doesn't exist. Masvidal is not avoiding anyone,” he concluded.
