Just one day after announcing an indefinite suspension and the opening of an internal investigation process into the episode involving the offenses published by Nate diaz in your Twitter, the UFC officially announced what sanctions the fighter will face. Diaz will be fined 20 thousand dollars (around R$40 thousand), money that will go to a charity, and will be suspended from the organization for 90 days.

According to the statement released by Ultimate, “the language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and not consistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated.” In his profile on the microblogging network, Diaz disagreed with the UFC's decision to pass on to Bryan caraway the bonuses offered to Pat Healy at UFC 159, after the former Strikeforce fighter was caught drug testing for marijuana use. Nate used the term “fag” (“faggot”, in translation) in one of the messages, which angered President Dana White.

PUBLICITY:

This is the second deliberate punishment by Ultimate following offensive statements in just over a month. Previously, heavyweight Matt Mitrione was suspended by the organization after homophobic demonstrations against transgender athlete Fallon Fox. In Mitrione's case, however, the suspension was revoked a few weeks later.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
