Rose Namajunas faces Zhang Weili in rematch for the strawweight belt at UFC 268

Last Saturday (28), during the broadcast of UFC Las Vegas 35, Ultimate announced the dispute for the strawweight belt (up to 52,2kg) between Rose namajunas and Zhang Weili for the UFC 258, which takes place on November 6th and should be held in New York (USA).

In the UFC since 2014, after participating in The Ultimate Fighter 20, Rose namajunas has a record of 10 wins and four losses in professional MMA. The American with Lithuanian roots won the Ultimate belt for the first time in 2017, when she knocked out the Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk, but ended up losing the title in 2019, knocked out by the Brazilian Jessica Stacker. In April of this year, she fought again for the title against then champion Zhang Weili and regained the throne of the strawweight division with a beautiful knockout.

On the other hand, Chinese Zhang Weili has a record of 21 wins and just two losses in professional MMA. The Chinese debuted in Ultimate in 2018 and the following year won the strawweight belt by knocking out Jessica Stacker. The title was defended by Weili on one occasion, against Joanna Jedrzejczyk in 2020, before returning to Namajunas' hands.

The rematch between Namajunas and Weili is the second title fight confirmed on the card. UFC 268. In the main fight, Kamaru Usman defends the welterweight title against Colby covington.
