First Brazilian in action in UFC Las Vegas 35 this Saturday (28), Wellington Turman He entered the Octagon with the mission of giving new impetus to his Ultimate career. However, against the veteran Sam alvey, the Brazilian ended up having two points taken away in the third round and, even so, won in a split decision from the judges (28-27, 27-28, 28-27). Alvey, who was dissatisfied with the judges' decision, is in his seventh fight without a win. At 35 years old, the North American is at risk of dismissal from the organization and has a record of 33 triumphs, 16 setbacks and one unsuccessful fight.
The fight
The first combat initiative was applied by Wellington Turman, who used kicks to the waist line. At the first opportunity he had, the Brazilian applied a cross and clinched to take down Sam alvey. With an advantage, the Brazilian tried, unsuccessfully, to take the fight to the ground. With the fight standing, the athletes started to exchange franks, without much advantage for either side.
The third round was marked by surrender between the combatants. However, because he hit three fingers in the eye, Wellington Turman he lost two points and, even though he was in a comfortable situation, he suffered from the punishments and lost the fight.
