Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren opened up, through his account on Twitter, a controversy over the organization's anti-doping policies. Askren revealed that in his entire time at the event, which has lasted three years, he has only performed one drug test.

“I just read an article about Bellator athletes not getting caught in drug tests. It's hard to get caught when you don't do it. I was only tested once!”, denounced the athlete in a tweet. “I don't care if we're untested, because cheaters are going to cheat no matter what. I just think the article was really silly,” he added in another message.

PUBLICITY:

Until the afternoon of this Tuesday (14), almost 48 hours after the publication of the tweets, Bellator management did not comment on Askren's statements and did not comment or open to the public the model of anti-drug policies and practices adopted by the organization.
