What a scare! Kelvin Gastelum was the last fighter to step on the scale during the weigh-in UFC Las Vegas 34 on Friday afternoon (20). The athlete weighed 84,4kg. and was around 100g more than the category limit. Afterwards, the American had an extra hour to reach his goal and, around 30 minutes later, he weighed 84,3kg. He faces Jared Cannonier in the main fight of the night. Only Brazilians, Alexandre pantoja e Josiane Nunes will also be on the card.

Kelvin Gastelum He was the last to weigh in and, at 84,4kg, he didn't make the weight for the division. He got on the scale with around 15 minutes left in the measurement and tried to use the screen, but he exceeded the medium weight limit (up to 0,25kg) by 100 pounds (around 83,9g). On the second attempt, he managed to cut weight to confirm the main fight of the night.
Appearing to be dry and well physically, Jared Cannonier passed the scales at 83,8kg. The athlete, who has already performed in two categories above, celebrated his weight after achieving his first goal before UFC Vegas 34. He has not performed since October 2020 and returned to performing after undergoing two arm surgeries.
To put an end to any speculation, Alexandre pantoja He decided to reassure Brazilians and was the first to weigh in. The Tupiniquim representative, who is third in the flyweight rankings, weighed 57,1kg. and guaranteed presence on the card.

After taking the fight less than a week into the event, Saidyokub Kakhramonov was unable to make weight for the duel against Trevin Jones on the main card. The North American was 2,5 pounds (about 1,1kg.) above the division limit and will pay 20% of the purse to his opponent.
