One of the most feared men in MMA, Francis Ngannou is going through a turbulent time within the UFC. Dissatisfied with the company after the creation of the interim heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg), the French-Cameroonian once again expressed his disappointment with the company. “Recently they gave me the heavyweight belt and months later they were talking about someone else as champion. At times, I don't know if I'm a champion or not. It’s very confusing,” said Ngannou.

At the top of the heavyweight division since he brutalized Stipe Miocic, Ngannou once again explained why he didn't make his first title defense. The unavailability of the Franco-Cameroonian ended up leveraging Cyryl Gane, who competed and won the interim title match against Derrick Lewis, UFC 265.

“It wasn't the right time for me, but they wanted to do it (a heavyweight title fight) anyway. Before that, I was asked if I would be ready to fight in September and I said I would be more than ready. (…) Suddenly, we saw that they created an interim belt. I do not know what happened. It's all for the good of the UFC. Only they know what happened”, he revealed.
