UFC fans have been waiting for the hyped champion superfights for a long time. But, this Friday (10), they gained great support from an icon of the organization. The 'voice of the octagon', Bruce Buffer, did not hide his desire to see possible duels of Anderson Silva, champion of the middleweight division (up to 84 kg.) against Georges St Pierre, owner of the welterweight belt (up to 77 kg.) or Jon Jones, holder of the light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg.).
“I hope these super fights happen. What I believe is the best thing to happen is Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones, but I would also love to see Anderson and GSP in a war inside the octagon. There is a lot of entertainment to come and, as a fan, I am very excited about the future of the UFC,” said Buffer, who is in Brazil arranging licensing of his image with a marketing agency in the country.
The objective of the agreement is to bring the 'voice of the Octagon' closer to the national public. “I think the Brazilian market will be as big as the United States for the UFC”, he analyzed. “Many Brazilians tell me that the UFC is the second sport, behind only football, and with many fans it is already the first in preference. I’m very excited,” he added.
Buffer's first step in Brazil will be the launch of his book “It's Time!: My 360-Degree View of the UFC”, in Portuguese. The publication should reach bookstores in August this year.
“I believe that the products I have planned will be very successful in Brazil, just like my book”, he continues. “We will launch it between July and August in Portuguese and I hope everyone really likes it. In it there are many stories that fans have never heard and much more about my life. It covers more than the 17 years working with the UFC”, he concluded.
