“I’m not going to fight anymore now, this season of the event. I was replaced because I couldn't make weight. I was 2 pounds (about 900g) above the category. In ten years, this is the first time this has happened to me. I'm very sad and disappointed in myself. But it's part of life. I'm not the only athlete who has done this. I didn't have time to cut weight anymore, so I exceeded the weigh-in time and, for that reason, I ended up not making weight”, explained the Brazilian.

Despite being out of the tournament, Pacheco promised not to 'hang his head' and is already planning preparation for the next Grand Prix.

“If I had more time, I could make weight. But they didn't give it to me and these are event rules. I respect this. Sorry to all of you, who were creating expectations for this fight. I promise that I won't lower my head and I will continue training, working and there will be more next year. I apologize to Taylor Guardado and the organization of the event. I'm fine physically, everything is fine. It’s just not better, because I’m not going to fight”, added the fighter.
