Dillashaw suggests that O'Malley is 'protected' by Ultimate and says that the young man will not be champion in the company

Former owner of the UFC bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg), TJ Dillashaw knows the category like few others. Keeping an eye on the division's talents, the North American explained his position on Sean O'Malley, a bet for the company’s future. Analyzing the young man, the former champion was sincere in questioning the treatment the fighter receives and said that his compatriot will not win a title with the company.

“I don't believe he (O'Malley) will become champion. He has a lot of holes and they are 'feeding' him the right fights. The UFC leveraged him with their machine. This can be done with anyone who has a character, who speaks, who is colorful. He has done a good job of promoting himself. That takes work,” said TJ, in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.

Dillashaw's opinion about his division partner is not only drawn in the analogy about – according to the former champion – favoring the young man. For TJ, Sean opened up room for questions after his first career defeat, in August 2020.

“We saw what happened when he faced 'Chito'(Marlon Vera). 'Chito' is a ranked athlete and he (Sean) was knocked out in the first round. I don't think he will be champion. Luckily, he can go far enough to make some noise and get paid for it,” he signed off.

With seven fights for the UFC, O'Malley, today, does not appear in the top 15 of the category led by aljamain sterling. Currently, the 26-year-old has six victories in the company and has two positive results in a row – the last in July, when he ran over the newcomer Kris moutinho.
