One day after the announcement that he had been fined by Ultimate for not attending a press event in the United States, the Brazilian Anderson Silva came forward to explain himself. This Tuesday (07), in an interview with the magazine's website Veja, the fighter stated that he did not know of the existence of the commitment.

“I never missed any commitment with the UFC. I would never book a trip to Brazil if I knew I had to be in Los Angeles. Everyone knows that I always block my media schedule to focus on training, as they are my priority. I am an athlete and my focus will always be training and being prepared for challenges”, said Spider.

PUBLICITY:

According to the North American newspaper USA Today, Anderson Silva was fined 50 thousand dollars (around R$ 100 thousand) for missing a “media day” in Los Angeles. The diary even featured UFC president Dana White's speech on the subject. At the time, White reportedly said that “he (Anderson) doesn’t like talking to the press, but it’s an obligation under the contract.”
