Ultimate continues with its sequence of layoffs, in order to reduce the roster of fighters. This time, the organization released Canadian Antonio Carvalho, who was defeated by Darren Elkins in his last appearance in the octagon, at UFC 158. Carvalho himself announced his departure for Twitter.
“I was cut by the UFC. Several roster additions and cuts are necessary. That's the way it is. I just have love for the UFC. I hope to be back. Thank you”, published the 33-year-old athlete on his profile on the microblogging network.
Antonio “Pato” Carvalho has a record of 15 wins and six losses in his career. The lightweight division has a 50% success rate in the UFC, with two victories and two failures in four fights. Before the defeat to Elkins, the Canadian had beaten the Brazilian Rodrigo Damm – participant in the first edition of TUF Brasil.
