Gane suggests special date and location for superfight against Ngannou to unify the heavyweight title

New interim champion in the under-120,2kg group, athlete asks for a short break, but is considering returning to the Octagon this season

New UFC interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), Cyryl Gane He doesn't hide his excitement for the most important commitment of his career. Probable opponent of Francis Ngannou in unifying the group title, the Frenchman is already planning a date, including a special location for the superfight. The athlete, however, asked for a short rest before resuming his training routine.

“I'm going to rest a little, because I started preparing in July last year. Since then, I prepared myself every week for a new duel. Fight after fight. Maybe (return) at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2022. If possible, in France. (…) The first (Ultimate) event in Paris. It will be a success, for sure”, suggested Ciryl, in an interview with 'BJPenn.com'.

French promise in MMA, Gane won his first Ultimate belt on the 7th. To reach the interim title, the athlete put on a real show of technique in front of Derrick Lewis, overcoming the 'giant' by technical knockout in the third round.

With the belt in possession, the athlete is now left with the challenge of facing the feared Ngannou, who has held the group's linear title since March of this season. Considered one of the most feared men in sport, the French-Cameroonian assumed the throne of the division by displacing Stipe Miocic, considered by many to be the best heavyweight of all time.

After UFC 265, held last weekend, Ultimate's president, Dana White, avoided setting a date for the meeting between Francis and Gane. The president, however, made it clear how much the confrontation could mark the company's history.
