José Aldo says he wants to face TJ Dillashaw in 2021

The former featherweight champion is coming off two consecutive victories in the bantamweight division and wants to return to the Octagon by December

After defeating Peter Munhoz in the co-main event of UFC 265, last Saturday (7), José Aldo already has plans for the near future. With two consecutive victories in the bantamweight division, Manauara wants to face the former champion of the division, TJ Dillashaw, in his next fight.

The statement was made by José Aldo at the post-fight press conference UFC 265, shortly after achieving his second consecutive victory in the bantamweight division. The former featherweight champion assured that he wants to return to the Octagon this year.

“For me, it would be great to fight Dillashaw. It would be a great fight between two great champions. By December I hope to have one more fight and I hope it will be against him”, declared Aldo.

After a difficult start in the bantamweight division, with consecutive defeats to Marlon moraes e Petr yan, José Aldo achieved two consecutive victories in the division, against Marlon Vera e Peter Munhoz. The former featherweight champion entered the octagon to face Munhoz, occupying fifth place in the division's rankings and should gain some positions with the victory.

TJ Dillashaw, in turn, returned to MMA after serving a two-year suspension. The former bantamweight champion defeated Cory Sandhagen in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 32, on July 24th and returned to the division rankings in second place.
