Vicente Luque's opponent, Michael Chiesa says he is 'ready for anything' at UFC 265

Escalated to face Vincent Luque No. UFC 265, Michael chiesa stated that he is prepared for the duel next Saturday (07). The North American fighter praised the Brazilian athlete but admitted he was prepared for 'anything' that might happen in the fight. The statement was given in the 'half day' of the show.

“There are no guarantees when you're fighting a guy like Vincent Luque. I will never forget his knockout of Hector Urbina, before I reached welterweight. This is one of my favorite knockouts in the UFC. Now, I have to fight the guy who has one of my favorite knockouts in Ultimate. Excellent. To get to where I want to go in this sport and where my goals are, this is the guy I have to face to get there. I'm ready for anything. but, I foresee a difficult fight,” said Michael.

Asked about what his next steps will be after facing Luque, the American admitted that he is focused on the duel against the Brazilian and prefers to only think about the fight next Saturday.

“I’m not looking at who could be next or what could come after this fight. I'm just focused on Vincent Luque. It would be a mistake for me to start talking about what comes next because I have a difficult fight ahead of me”, concluded the 'Maverick'.

Current number five in the welterweight rankings, Michael has been on the back of four consecutive victories. His last defeat was to Anthony Pettis, in July 2018. The fighter has, so far, 17 triumphs and four setbacks in the sport.
