Glover Teixeira bets on jiu-jitsu as a 'determining factor' to beat Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267

Brazilian says his experience in the 'noble art' could make a difference in the fight, which takes place on October 30th

Close to one of the most important fights of his career, Glover Teixeira You already know one of the ways to become UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg). In an interview with the podcast 'MMA on Voice', the Brazilian believes that his jiu-jitsu can make a difference in the fight against Jan Blachowicz, scheduled to take place in UFC 267 on October 30nd.

“I bet on everything. We train everything. We train with some very sinister guys. I believe my jiu-jitsu is one of the best in the UFC, so I'm pretty confident. Of course, jiu-jitsu will be the difference. It's my art. It’s my main art,” Glover said.

In the fight, in fact, Teixeira will have just turned 42 and, if he wins, he will become the second oldest fighter to win the UFC title – behind only Randy Couture (45). Despite this, the Minas Gerais native rejected the chance to retire after the duel.

“I try to live in the now. I'm very focused at the moment. I don't make plans for the future, because I fight for love. (…), I feel very enthusiastic about training and I still have this 'fire' for the fighter and the fight. For now, I love what I do. I'm doing very well, training very well and I'm not thinking about retirement right now”, concluded the fighter.

Professional since 2002, Glover Teixeira will have his 40th MMA fight against Jan Blachowicz. Currently, there are 32 wins and seven losses. Furthermore, the Brazilian occupies first place in the light heavyweight rankings, behind only the Pole.
