"Whindersson Nunes, sign this contract and let’s go to hell”, wrote Popó.
The challenge, which involves the former world boxing champion and one of the biggest YouTubers in Brazil, could follow in the same footsteps as brothers Jake and Logan Paul. Digital influencers continue to look for fights against big names in the world of MMA and/or boxing, despite criticism from fans and professional athletes.
One of the biggest names in the history of Brazilian boxing, Popó has not performed since November 2017, when he faced Mexican Gabriel Martínez. On that occasion, the former super featherweight and lightweight champion won by unanimous decision from the judges.
On the other hand, in 2019, Whindersson debuted in amateur boxing, winning his first challenge on points. A fan of the sport, the YouTuber has publicly declared that boxing came into his life as a way of coping with severe depression.
