The light heavyweight Mauricio Shogun spent a short time without a head coach. After failing to reach an agreement with André Dida, the former light heavyweight champion reached an agreement with Glaube Feitosa, a former K-1 athlete. The revelation of the new commander was made by the Shogun himself.
“It will be Glaube Feitosa, who has worked with me for a long time. He is a muay thai athlete and fought in K-1. People think I'm abandoned, I'm not abandoned. I’m going to let people feel at ease knowing that I’m not alone”, said Mauricio, in an interview with the Sportv website.
Shogun also made a point of highlighting that there was no disagreement with Dida, who has been his coach since 2009. According to the athlete, the option to change was only technical.
“There was no disagreement, on the contrary. I called him, we talked, it was my choice. Training wasn't like it used to be, that's why. I've already started the camp and I have several teachers and athletes helping me, I just changed the teacher. I told him I couldn't do it anymore. Dida is my friend, but it was a professional thing. I have nothing against him, but I have to do my best”, added Shogun.
the return of Mauricio Shogun to the octagon will be in front of his compatriot Rogério Minotouro at UFC 161, an event that takes place on June 15, in Winnipeg, Canada.
