Gilbert Durinho defends himself from Dana White's criticism after his performance against Stephen Thompson

After receiving criticism from Dana White for his safe performance against Stephen Thompson No. UFC 264, Gilbert Durinho made it clear that he was not bothered by the president's comments. The Brazilian fighter emphasized that he doesn't care about the opinion of the president of Ultimate and justified his fight strategy. The statement was given to the 'MMA fighting'.

“I found myself apologizing, then I thought to myself, 'You know what? I don't mind'. I was very nervous, coming off a knockout loss to the champion and trying to rebuild myself. I’m sure I still have time to be champion,” said Durinho.

The Brazilian said he understands Dana's criticisms but stated that he will not base himself on them to define his strategy for the fights.

“Dana White is very emotional, for sure. As a prosecutor, that's what he has to do. I understand his opinion but I don't trust it. This will not define what I do next. Dana said the same thing about Cyryl Gane a few fights ago and he’s fighting for the interim title now”, concluded the Brazilian.
