A new rivalry may be forming in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg.). Full of expectations, the fight between Justin gaethje e Michael chandler is often analyzed as an ideal scenario for both fighters in the sequel. And now, the North American seems to agree with the possibility.

In an official publication on 'Twitter', Gaethje spoke about the fight happening and denied that he is running away from a duel against Chandler. He even accused the former Bellator champion of being protected by UFC president, Dana White, who granted his possible next opponent the chance to fight for the title with just one victory in the organization.
"Michael chandler You're talking a lot. I was waiting for a deal for the fight and, three weeks into training, I woke up to the news that his 'father' Dana gave him the title shot. He has been out of commission since the knockout he suffered. I'm on vacation and this son of a bitch is slandering my name,” Gaethje wrote.
Despite being inclined to accept a duel against Chandler, Justin gaethje may be sailing in the opposite direction to that of his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, who stated that the fighter should fight for the belt against Charles of the Bronx already in his next fight. He hasn't fought since October 2020, when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov.
