The featherweight took no notice of the tough Darren Elkins and confirmed his first position in the division's rankings. The result made Chad ask for a rematch against José Aldo, for the category belt.

The only Brazilian in the show, Hugo Wolverine was unable to score another victory in the UFC. The Brazilian athlete was surprised by TJ Dillashaw and ended up being knocked out in the first round of the dispute.
