TJ Dillashaw shows respect for Cory Sandhagen and says he wants to win back the bantamweight belt

The former bantamweight champion declared that he intends to regain his division title and praised his opponent in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 32

Resuming his reign in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg) is the main objective of TJ Dillashaw upon his return to the Octagon. The former category champion emphasized his desire to regain the category belt and showed respect for Cory Sandhagen, his opponent in UFC Las Vegas 32nd next Saturday (24th).

“They tried to offer me fighters who weren't in the top-5 and I said no. I'm 35 years old. I want my belt back. I never lost it. I'm here to prove that I'm the best in the world and the best way to do that is to get back to the top of the division,” said Dillashaw.

Even though he was confident of regaining the bantamweight title, TJ showed respect for Cory Sandhagen and praised his opponent next Saturday (24).

"Cory Sandhagen He's a great opponent. I trained a lot to face him, as he is a great athlete. As he is number two in the rankings, it will be a very important fight for me to win, prove my worth and regain my belt as soon as Aljamain (Sterling) and (Petr) Yan resolve the issue between them”, concluded the former champion.

Former bantamweight champion, TJ returns to the octagon after more than two years suspended for doping by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency). Even before the official announcement, Dillashaw admitted the positive result of his test and gave up his title in the under-61,2kg category. In his last fight, the North American was knocked out by Henry Cejudo in a valid dispute for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg).
