The fact that Dustin poirier proved to be superior to Conor McGregor for the second time in 2021, few can dispute this. For the North American's coach, Mike Brown, however, expectations for a fourth clash should be minimized. According to the coach, the result proves a lot about the athletes' current situation and the Irishman's situation could complicate a new meeting.

“I don’t think we need (a fourth fight), but who knows where they will be when Conor recovers and comes back. We will see. He has a journey ahead of him. Maybe he needs to face someone and win, but he's the biggest star in the sport,” said Brown, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.
Coach at American Top Team (ATT), Mike believes a 'quadrilogy' could make sense just out of respect for McGregor's legacy. Otherwise, the coach claims that his pupil has already proven to be a better fighter than his former rival.
“He (Conor) changed the 'game', he did a lot for the sport. It's the biggest the sport has ever seen, it attracts a lot of eyes. He’s done a lot of great things, but we have a superior fighter (Poirier),” he concluded.
Last weekend, Poirier may have ended a trilogy that began in 2014, when both were still playing at featherweight (up to 65,7kg.). By beating McGregor for the second time this season, the American secured the right to challenge Charles of the Bronx for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg), won by the Brazilian in May.
MMA legend, Conor ended up experiencing the most tragic moment in his career in the sport. The fighter fractured his ankle in the final seconds of the fight and ended up suffering a technical knockout (medical interruption). With the new setback, the Irish have not won in the division since 2016.
