After reassuring fans and talking about the success of the surgery, Conor McGregor did not spare the rival Dustin poirier. In a video recorded at the hospital, the Irishman called the North American's victory “illegitimate” and promised to come back stronger.

“Hello, fight fans. This is Notório. I just got out of the operating room and everything went according to plan. Everything is perfect, I feel great and it will only be six weeks with crutches for us to rebuild ourselves again. I want to thank fans around the world for their messages of support. I hope you enjoyed the show. I also want to thank all 21.800 fans present at T-Mobile Arena. That place was absolutely electrifying. It was a fantastic first round, and it would have been great to go into the second round to see what would happen. But that's it, that's the nature of this business. I fractured my tibia and it wasn't meant to be. Dustin, you can celebrate this illegitimate victory all you want, but you didn't do anything. The second round would have shown things as they are. Now let's work as a team. We fall together and we will rise together. We will come back better than ever,” said McGregor.
