Rafael dos Anjos recalls the foot injury that took him out of the fight against McGregor and provokes the Irishman

More than five years after suffering a foot injury that took him out of the match against Conor McGregor, Rafael dos Anjos He also showed regrets about the situation. The two athletes would face off at UFC 196, which took place in March 2016. The duel would mark the confrontation between the then lightweight champion (under 70,3kg) Rafael dos Anjos and the featherweight leader (up to 65,7kg) Conor McGregor. However, with just a few days left before the fight, the Brazilian fractured his foot during training and was replaced by Nate diaz, which finished the Irishman.

The Brazilian fighter was scheduled as a 'reserve' for the clash between Poirier and McGregor in the UFC 264. Dos Anjos made the weight cut waiting for an opportunity, which didn't happen. Former lightweight leader, the Tupiniquim athlete has a record of 30 wins and 13 losses in his career.
