In Dana White's opinion, Dustin poirier you were right in preferring the trilogy against Conor McGregor instead of fighting for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg). The agent stated that 'Diamante' made the correct decision and guaranteed that in case of victory, he will compete for the title against the Brazilian charles do brox. The statement was given in an interview with the website 'The Mac Life'.

“Dustin was criticized for accepting this fight and not fighting for the title. He absolutely did the right thing. It was the right thing to do. If he can win on Saturday night, he wins the trilogy against McGregor and moves on to the title fight anyway. Many people will know Poirier after this fight,” said Dana.
Even though Poirier won the last duel, Dana doesn't believe in accommodation and says that the 'Diamond' comes 'very hungry' for the third fight.
“You know Poirier is training in Florida with savages every day. He wants this fight more than anything. You have to look at hunger. There is no doubt that Poirier must be hungrier than McGregor. He wants all the things that Conor has”, concluded the agent.
Current number one in the rankings and former interim lightweight champion, Dustin is on the back of two consecutive victories heading into his fight against McGregor. If he defeats the Irishman, the 'Diamond' will stamp his passport for the title fight against the leader of the group, charles do brox. The fighter has a history of 27 triumphs and six setbacks in his career.
