Anderson Silva clashes with former teammate on the streets of Curitiba

Spider and José Pelé Landy had to be restrained for safety to avoid a fight between the fighters

Anderson SilvaAnderson Silva is scheduled to face Chris Weidman at UFC 162, on July 6th, but the Brazilian fighter almost got involved in a fight before defending his Ultimate belt. According to news from Portal do Vale-Tudo, Spider had an argument with his former teammate, José Pele Landy, on the streets of Curitiba and the two only did not come to blows because a friend and several security guards would have prevented the conflict.

According to the website, Anderson was running in the company of a friend when Pelé, who was driving by the place, saw the enemy and decided to return to clarify the reports given about him in the book that tells the life of Spider. In his autobiography, written by journalist Eduardo Ohata, Anderson Silva tells some controversial episodes involving José Landi and the founder of Chute Boxe, coach Rudimar Fedrigo. The “Spider” reports irritated Pelé, which would have led to the disagreement between them in Curitiba

“I saw him running in the express lane, I turned around and called him so we could fight. He said he would fight, but soon a car full of security guards appeared saying there would be no fight. Anderson started shouting, calling me a maloqueiro. I also cursed him a lot and said that he was a champion abroad and that in Curitiba he was nothing. He always challenged me, I accepted and beat him twice, now I'm the one challenging him. I wish him a long life with the UFC belt that makes all Curitiba residents so proud, but I think we owe it to Curitiba: Anderson x Pele part 3: maybe in a UFC in Curitiba”, said Pelé.
