The decisive fight in the welterweight category (up to 77kg) of Ultimate, between Gilbert Durinho e Stephen Thompson, continues to stir the spirits of MMA fans. Marked by its balance, combat is the second most important UFC 264, scheduled to take place on Saturday (10), in Las Vegas (USA). “I'm going to root for Durinho a lot. He's a very nice guy. I met him personally. He is an athlete that I admire and a top guy. But I think that, in this fight, he will be an underdog. O Stephen Thompson It will be a favorite due to its size. I think he is very big. He plays very well at distance, which makes some fights boring. He won't let Durinho stick. “As much as I'm rooting for Durinho to recover and get back (to a title shot), I think Thompson's style is very complicated. He's a karateka and I identify with him a lot. It's very difficult to beat Thompson. So, I’m going to bet on him by decision”, he bet.

“From what I watch of Thompson’s fights, he kind of controls the distance very well. So, he directs the rhythm of the fight, unless the guy – like Anthony Pettis – enter with a surprise blow. But pressing, without changing speed or playing at distance, I would try to play overhand on top to give pressure and hold it down. By applying jiu-jitsu, the fight will be over. Now that Demian (Maia) has left, Durinho has become the main representative of jiu-jitsu in the UFC. So, my guess will be (victory for) Durinho by submission or TKO. I think it’s very difficult for Thompson to take the fight”, he concluded.
