Close to facing one, but keeping an eye on another. Gilbert Durinho, who is the Brazilian representative on the main card and has the second most important fight in the UFC 264 against Stephen Thompson, talked about a possible confrontation against Nate diaz in the future.

No half day of the event, Durinho was asked about a duel against Diaz, due to a recent raid after the veteran's defeat against Leon edwards, UFC 263. The Brazilian highlighted that he can face him if the UFC wants and considers the duel as 'easy money'.
“Of course I do (I can fight him). Easy fight, easy money. I would definitely fight Nate any day of the week. It's not in my plans right now. I don't think he deserves to fight me now. I'm number 2 in the world now. But he's a big fight, he brings a lot of eyes, a lot of fans. Why not?” said Gilbert.
Despite opening the door to a possible fight against Nate, Gilbert states that the veteran is not in a good position in Ultimate and, now, prioritizes charting the right path to a fight for the division's belt.
“He's coming off two defeats against guys who lost to the guy who beat me (Usman). The two losses were to Masvidal and Edwards. So there's not much he can say about it. But I'm not chasing this fight, but rather that belt”, concluded the fighter.
Willing to recover from defeat against Kamaru Usman, UFC 258 held in February this year, Gilbert Durinho has a tough mission against the fourth in the ranking, Stephen Thompson. The winner of the fight can even guarantee a fight against the current champion in the next round.
