Following the 'wave' of other fighters, Chris Weidman also weighed in on the main fight of the UFC 264 between Dustin poirier e Conor McGregor. In the opinion of theAll American', the 'Diamond' is the favorite to win the match and cited the Irishman's possible lack of motivation. The statement was given in an interview with 'ESPN'.

“After watching the second fight, I have to go with Poirier. He 'mixes it up' much better than Conor. You could see in January that McGregor just didn't have the same energy that we're used to seeing him have. You didn't see that from him last time. So until he can prove me wrong, I have to go with Poirier,” Weidman said.
After fracturing his leg in the duel against Uriah Hall In April, Weidman continued his recovery. The former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) is expected to return in eight to 12 months. The fighter has a record of 15 triumphs and six setbacks.
With a victory for each side, the trilogy between McGregor and Poirier is considered one of the greatest fights in history. In 2014, still in the featherweight division, Conor managed to knock out 'Diamante' in the second round. The rematch took place in January of that year and ended with a victory for the North American using the same method.
