Just over a month after the duel with Vincent Luque No. UFC 265, Michael chiesa showed respect for his opponent's talents. The North American fighter praised the Brazilian's technical qualities and stated that he will be the most dangerous opponent he has ever faced in his career. The statement was given to the former fighter's podcast Michael Bisping.

“I think Vicente is the most dangerous guy I've faced to date. He has won nine of his last 10 fights, eight of which were by knockout or submission. He gets performance bonuses all the time. Luque has good knockout power with his hands, he has a lot of discipline with his feet and you don't see him make many mistakes. It is fundamentally solid, it stays within the basics and I’m not saying that in a pejorative way,” said Chiesa.
Aware of the great challenge he will face against the Brazilian athlete, Michael declared that he is aware that he cannot make mistakes in the fight to have a chance of emerging victorious.
“I cannot make a single tactical error in this fight if I want to win. I have to be on point. I can't make a mistake against Luque because it changes the entire scenario of the fight. He's from a good gym. I know that Vicente has been training a lot in Brazil but he stayed at Sanford MMA for a long time”, concluded the North American.
Current number six in the welterweight rankings (under 77,1kg), Chiesa has a good chance of entering the top-5 if he wins over Vicente. 'Maverick' is excited by a streak of four straight victories. His last setback was for Anthony Pettis at UFC 226, in July 2018.
The show will be headlined by the dispute for the interim heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg) between Cyryl Gane e Derrick Lewis. In the co-main fight of the night, the Brazilian Amanda nunes will defend her bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg) against Juliana Peña. The show will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas (USA).
