Transsexual fighter wins battle at the Athletic Commission and will compete among women

The controversy surrounding the name Fallon Fox in recent days had a happy ending for the fighter. The fighter, who is transgender, won the battle with the Florida State Athletic Commission and renewed her license to compete. Now, she will be able to fight  in professional MMA against other women.

“I feel very happy that they came to this conclusion. I was sure I would look at them and realize I wasn't trying to trick them just to get a license,” Fox told Outsports.

With the release, Fox will face compatriot Allanna Jones in the semifinals of the GP Championship Fighting Alliance (CFA), on May 24th. Initially, Jones refused to face a transsexual athlete, but with the Athletic Commission's claim that Fox would not have any physical advantage over her, she ended up accepting the challenge.
