Big surprise in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg). After much speculation about the champion's possible opponent, Francis Ngannou, Ultimate climbed Cyryl Gane e Derrick Lewis to measure strength in a duel valid for the interim belt of the category. The fight will take place at UFC 265 scheduled for August 7th. The information was first released by journalist Brett Okamoto from 'ESPN'.

The french Cyryl Gane is the current number three in the heavyweight rankings and is coming off a victory last Saturday (26) over Alexander Volkov in the unanimous decision of the judges. Hired by the UFC in 2019, the European fighter has won the nine fights he has had in his career so far, six with the organization chaired by Dana White.
Riding on four consecutive victories, the current number two in the rankings, Derrick Lewis is going for his second title fight in Ultimate. In November 2018, 'Black Beast' was knocked out by the then linear champion, Daniel Cormier. The 36-year-old fighter has a professional history of 25 triumphs and seven setbacks in professional MMA.
The duel between the 'giants' will headline the show and will be the second title fight of the night. In the co-main fight, the Brazilian Amanda nunes will put his bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg) at stake against Julianna Pena. The show will be held in Houston, Texas (USA).
