Number five in the group, Volkov started out better, but ended up falling victim to Ciryl's precision and fighting style. With the setback, the Russian lost the chance to advance in the category and had a sequence of two victories interrupted.

The fight

In the opening seconds, Volkov attacked Gane with a series of low kicks. The Frenchman responded with a cross, which was saved by the Russian. Alexander continued to dominate the actions, while Ciryl sought the best distance. Gane tried a right cross, but Volkov knocked his opponent off balance with a low kick. The Russian continued to focus on leg attacks and the Frenchman tried to confuse his opponent's defense with variations of kicks, jabs and crosses. After three minutes, Ciryl risked a takedown, but the action was well defended by his opponent. In the final seconds, Gane risked a sequence of punches, which stopped in the Russian's guard, until the bell sounded.

The second stage began with Gane taking the initiative with a low kick. Volkov responded in kind and finished with a straight shot. The Russian asserted his greater reach and tried to attract the Frenchman into his range of action. Ciryl adopted caution, but scored with punches and attacks on his opponent's legs. The fighters continued to score and avoided exposing themselves. The duel was progressing warmly, with balance between the athletes. In the final second, Ciryl risked a combination of punches, which forced Alexander to walk backwards. The Russian, however, remained dangerous in counterattacks, marked by long-range strikes. The round ended without many actions.

In the third round, the confrontation continued without much pressure from either side. Gane touched his opponent more, but without force. Halfway through the round, Ciryl connected a sequence of jabs and crosses to Alexander's face. The Frenchman tried to take advantage of the good moment and continued to attack his opponent. Cornered, Volkov walked backwards and didn't scare his opponent. In the final seconds, the athletes stirred up the confrontation and exchanged attacks in the center of the Octagon, but there was no more time.

Alexander attacked his opponent again with a direct strike, but did not continue his actions. Towards the final minute, the duel continued without any major emotions, with the two 'giants' showing respect. The stage ended with the fighters exchanging powerless blows close to the fence.

In the last stage, Ciryl and Volkov risked attacks at close range. More precise, the Frenchman touched the Russian more frequently and avoided exposing himself to his opponent's counterattacks. Two minutes later, the Frenchman hit Alexander with a combination of crosses. Volkov tried to respond, but Gane was active in dodging. With two minutes left until the end of the confrontation, the Frenchman landed a clean cross on Alexander's face, but the Russian didn't even move. The duel returned with the athletes rehearsing a frank exchange, but there was no more time.
