THE FIGHT

The first round started with a frank exchange between the fighters. Helena Kolesnyk was the first to connect and ended up unbalancing Larissa pacheco with cross strikes at close range. With some damage on her feet, the Brazilian tried to grab the clinch, but it was barely effective. However, she freed herself and brutally counterattacked with a right that exploded in the face of the Ukrainian, who fell knocked out.

After the knockout, Pacheco stated that he was happy to be able to knock out and show progress in jiu-jitsu, in addition to revealing his desire to meet, for the third time, with Kayla harrison in a possible final of the lightweight season (up to 70,3kg.).

PUBLICITY:

“As I've been working on the ground for a long time, I think it's time to prove that I can do much more than just win in jiu-jitsu. (…), in addition to taking away the champion’s belt (Kayla harrison), I will be becoming the biggest fighter in the organization”, said the Brazilian.

Se Larissa pacheco I had already done well, Bruno Cappelozza repeated the dose. Representative of the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg.), the Brazilian fighter was superior to Muhammad DeReese and 'stamped his passport' for the semi-finals of the tournament. He now faces Jamelle Jones in the next stage.

PUBLICITY:

Muhammad DeReese attempted the takedown, but followed the response of Bruno Cappelozza. Next to the fence, the Brazilian stuck to the ground, but let his opponent get up. Cappelozza applied another cross that made the North American feel it. He continued 'hammering' and still had time to land another kick to the face, in addition to seeing his rival fall into the octagon.

Cappelozza is guaranteed in the semi-finals of the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg). With two brutal knockouts, he has 12 points and is waiting to meet his next opponent. In his career, there are 13 wins – all by knockout – and five defeats.
