Brazil did well at Bellator 94, held last Thursday night (28), in Tampa, in the United States. With four representatives at the show, the country left the event's circular cage with three victories. Sérgio Júnior, Rodrigo Ratinho and Augusto Sakai won Brazilian triumphs. The only setback of the night was from Bruno Carvalho, who was making his debut on the show and was surpassed by James Edson Berto.
In the main fight of the night, valid for the light heavyweight GP final, Emanuel Newton, executioner of King mo of the tournament, he defeated Mikhail Zayats via unanimous decision by the judges.
Brazilians win in the event:
Sérgio Júnior's Bellator debut was filled with great emotion. Against Trey Houston, the duel started with a good exchange of blows on the feet, but in the second round the Brazilian was almost submitted with a rear naked choke. However, Sérgio managed to escape and returned to decide the dispute in the third round. After taking his rival to the ground fight, the Brazilian used a kata-gatame and forced his rival to give up the fight.
In turn, Rodrigo Ratinho had a little more work to do. Facing Englishman Ronnie Mann, the Brazilian showed progress in his striking to land good blows on his opponent, control the fight and take the win with the judges' unanimous decision.
On the preliminary card, heavyweight Augusto Sakai scored his fourth victory as a professional in MMA. In the fight against Rob Horton, the Brazilian knocked out his rival in the second round and successfully defended his unbeaten record in the sport.
