Considered the greatest threat throughout the reign of Anderson Silva in Ultimate, Chris Weidman does not hide optimism for the confrontation against the Brazilian at UFC 162. The 28-year-old North American reveals that he hopes to take the title from Spider and then renegotiate his contract with the organization.
“I was getting paid US$24 (around R$48) to fight and US$24 for winning. I want to do that because, after I beat Anderson like I plan to do, then obviously the contract will jump more than if I tear up the contract now”, said Weidman, in an interview with MMA Junkie.

This guy is using his best weapon, his throat. I want to see what he will say after he is defeated, what his story will be.
Everyone thought Anderson was going to beat. Everyone said it, everyone thought it. The reality is that he is a new guy, full of dreams. Perhaps the lack of opponents in the category was the factor that boosted this fight.
I wish him the best of luck, he's going to need it.
