Minotauro praises Werdum, but says: 'If you have a favorite, it's me'

Heavyweights face technical duel at TUF Brasil 2, June 8th

Rodrigo MinotauroComing off two consecutive victories, Fabricio Werdum The UFC promises that if it wins Rodrigo Minotauro, in the TUF Brasil 2 technical duel, he will be the challenger for the heavyweight belt. But not even the rival close to competing for the Ultimate title makes Minotauro consider himself an underdog in the duel.

Rodrigo, who already beat Werdum, in 2006, at Pride, states that the duel does not have favoritism, but if someone has an advantage before the fight starts, he bets on his record. “The fight has no favorite, if there is a favorite, it’s me,” said Minotauro, in an interview with PVT.

“I'm training a lot. Nowadays my hand is heavier, I'm having a good time fighting. In my last two fights I showed that I have good striking. Werdum improved a lot in his standing, I have no doubt about that, but when he improved a lot, I improved a lot too”, said Minotauro, who is betting on a great fight.

“The fight will be tough for both me and him. I respect him a lot, I know how much he's grown, he's improved a lot in the clinch part, and I'm working a lot on that too. It's going to be a struggle. The favorite will be whoever has the most training, the most desire to win, and I believe in my training”, analyzed the former Pride champion.

The fight between Rodrigo Minotauro e Fabricio Werdum will be the main attraction of the grand final of TUF Brasil 2. The event is scheduled to take place on June 8th, likely to be hosted in Fortaleza, Ceará.
