This Saturday (26), the Frenchman will share the octagon with Alexander Volkov in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 30 and did not hide his respect for his rival. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the fighter analyzed the importance of the clash for his career.

“This is a great opportunity, because, for me, I believe it is the biggest challenge of my career,” said the Frenchman.

Facing an opponent famous for his knockout power, Gane says he is aware of the difficulties that could be faced at the weekend. Reinforcing the Russian's qualities, the heavyweight believes that the challenge will add to his career in MMA.

“Volkov is one of the best in the division. (…) I'm excited because I'm new to MMA. I want to test myself, because I don't know myself yet. I want a challenge and, perhaps, this fight will prove a new version of me and I can show something new”, he concluded.

Undefeated in mixed martial arts, Gane returns to the Octagon to defend his 100% record. So far, the Frenchman has eight positive results in the sport.

Reaching his 42nd appearance in mixed martial arts, Alexander wants to confirm his good momentum and reach the mark of 34 triumphs in the sport. The Russian comes from two consecutive victories in the UFC.
