One of the biggest Brazilian rivalries in MMA may have a new chapter. Despite being prepared to face former world champion Oscar De La Hoya on September 18, Vitor belfort revealed the possibility of a rematch against Anderson Silva, this time in boxing.

In an interview with 'Combate', the Brazilian says he was happy with the 'Spider's' victory against Júlio Cesar Chávez Jr. last Saturday (19) and stated that the repeat of the duel, considered by many as the 'fight of the century ', is in his plans for the future in boxing.
“I think (that we will face each other in boxing) (laughs). They say a rematch is something everyone enjoys. It's not the dish we eat, it's the dish you eat. My message (to Anderson) is: see you soon. (…) I'm very happy to be able to see Anderson champion, I was betting on him. Brazilians winning brings me great joy”, said the 'Phenomenon'.
The first duel between Anderson Silva e Vitor belfort, which took place in February 2011, was marked as one of the watersheds of MMA on Brazilian soil. The fighters were two of the biggest Brazilian names in Ultimate. In one of the most iconic fights in the sport, 'Spider' got the better of him and continued with the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg.), with emphasis on his front kick, which embodies the organization's image throughout much of the world.
If Ultimate did not provide a rematch, destiny could bring the combatants together in boxing after more than ten years. Anderson Silva, 46 years old, already had his first fight on his return and beat Júlio Cesar Chávez Jr. in a split decision from the judges, while Vitor belfort, 44, is preparing for the duel against Oscar De La Hoya.
