In the confrontation against Jake collier, which opened the UFC 263, held this Saturday (12), in Glendale (USA), the Bahian left everything in the Octagon and staged, alongside his rival, a true battle. In a duel marked by frank striking and balance, the Tupiniquim was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges.

Collier's defeat prevented the American from achieving his second positive result in a row. The athlete, who debuted in the heavyweight division in 2020, is experiencing his second setback in the division.
The fight
The confrontation began with Collier taking the initiative with two high kicks, which ended up in Boi's guard. The North American remained more aggressive, but the Brazilian tried to close the distance with crosses. The confrontation remained straightforward with the heavyweights trying for a knockout right from the start. Jake continued to score with jabs, but Carlos moved forward, trying to find his opponent. The North American continued attacking the Bahian, but the Tupiniquim shook his head, stating that he did not commit the blow. In the final seconds, the fighters began to engage in frank exchanges, but there was no more time.
In the second stage, the duel continued with aggression from both sides. Boi tried to frame his rival with hooks and crosses and Collier responded in kind. Halfway through the round, Carlos started calling his opponent to 'fight', trying to lure his opponent into making a mistake. Near the final minute, Jake showed signs of tiredness, but showed danger when he threw his punches. Towards the end of the stage, Boi started to work on his opponent's waistline, but Collier absorbed the Bahian's best attacks well.
In the last stage, Collier took the initiative again with a kick to the Bahian's waistline. Carlos responded with an overhand, which went empty. In the best fight on the preliminary card, Brad Riddell overcame Drew dober in the unanimous decision of the judges (30 x 27, 30 x 27, 29 x 28) and achieved his seventh consecutive victory in his career. The fight, which closed the first part of the card, was marked by major twists and turns.
The duel started frenetic and with frank exchanges between the fighters. Drew dober went up and hit a straight shot that made Brad Riddell 'dancing' in the octagon. The North American had the chance to knock him out, but saw the New Zealander make the save. In fact, Riddell responded immediately and connected with two direct hits.
In the second round, Dober preferred to take the game to the ground. In a position of superiority, he threatened to get his back, but didn't even manage to work before Riddell resumed the fight on his feet. The New Zealander landed an upper and it was his turn to take down and he made the transition to mount. On top, he was unable to work on his strikes and the fight returned to the feet with a new striking moment.
The fight followed the same script in the third round. Ridder connected with a good cross that shook Dober. He continued 'marching' forward and received a counterattack from the North American. Still, the New Zealander landed a left bomb that made Drew feel it. Brad still went up, but Dober tried the takedown. In the last seconds, the North American reversed the situation and looked for the kimura, but he didn't have time to adjust his position.

After three rounds, the Iranian connected the greatest number of blows, exerted pressure and became the winner of the duel by unanimous decision of the judges (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).
With the result, Kianzad scored his fourth consecutive victory in his career and, now, should enter the top-10 of the division. In his career, there are 15 triumphs and five setbacks.
On the other hand, Davis loses again in Ultimate. Previously, the Canadian had been defeated by Katlyn chookagian, Jennifer maia e Viviane Araujo, but managed to recover against Sabina mazo, in February 2021. Now, she has a history of 20 positive results and 11 negative results.
