On the other hand, Clay Collard passes the first phase with 'mastery'. Previously, he had knocked out Anthony Pettis, who was considered the big favorite for the award and has now won his third consecutive victory. In his record, there are 20 positive results, eight negative and one 'I didn't answer'.

THE FIGHT

As expected, the fight between the fighters started off busy. Clay Collard was the first to try a cross, but he saw Joilton Peregrino respond and take him down for the ground game. With an advantage, the Brazilian naturalized German took advantage of the opportunity to apply a hand triangle. The American, incredibly, managed to free himself after almost 'blacking out' in the decagon. Upon getting up, he still stood up and kicked his opponent in the ribs. With an advantage, Peregrino continued with his clinch strategy until the end of the round.

If the beginning was electrifying, the second round had the same 'spice'. Based on boxing, Collard hit Peregrino with front kicks and returned to exploring the waist line. He still landed good blows close to the fence, while the Brazilian was already retreating and feeling each blow that hit him. Cornered, however, Joilton applied a beautiful judo takedown and tried to go to the back, but did not progress in the position.

In the third and final stage, Clay Collard continued to invest in boxing to reach Joilton Peregrino. In the opening seconds, the North American cornered his opponent with hard uppers e jabs who touched and hurt the Brazilian. The exchange became frank in the final stretch of the fight, with both competitors betting on their hands to achieve victory. Still, strategically, Peregrino attacked the legs and took down Collard. On the ground, he still hit and managed to score, but saw his opponent break free and explode. Then, still on the fence, the Brazilian lifted and pinned the North American to the ground.
