The victory was painful, but it came. After being dominated in the ground game, Claressa shields managed a comeback in the third round and knocked out Brittney Elkin in her MMA debut. The North American, who reached gold weight in the PFL, had the main fight of the night in a duel that took place this Wednesday (10), in Atantic City (USA). The fight was valid in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg).

His opponent, Elkin, suffers his fourth consecutive defeat and has a record of three triumphs and seven setbacks in his career.
THE FIGHT
Despite just making his professional MMA debut, Claressa shields went through big trouble in the opening minutes of the fight. The two-time Olympic champion worked on getting closer to jabs at close range, but was easily taken down by Brittney Elkin. On top, her opponent gained confidence and continued to progress to mount, where she threw a series of strong punches until the end of the round.
In the second round, Claressa started showing her value in boxing. A multi-time boxing champion, she threw a right that hit Elkin. In turn, Brittney closed the distance, fell and came back on top on the ground. Soon after and with ease, she got back on the mount and tried to finish with an armbar. Shields, however, managed to defend and fell on top, having time to land hard blows at the end.
Everything changed in the third and final round. Willing to turn things around, Claressa shields he defended a takedown attempt and landed hard blows from the top to create an incredible comeback.
