TUF Brasil 2: First episode selects the athletes who enter the UFC reality show

After much anticipation, the first episode of the second edition of The Ultimate Fighter Brasil aired this Sunday night (17). Broadcast by Rede Globo, the UFC reality show selected the first seven fighters in the welterweight division who will be confined to the house in search of a contract with Ultimate.

In the first program, seven fights valid for the last round, where the winner would qualify for a place and the loser would say goodbye to the dispute. Under the watchful eye of technicians Rodrigo Minotauro e Fabricio Werdum, the fighters showed a high level in the initial episode.

Pedro Iriê draws attention with a beautiful knockout

Known for competing in several events in Brazil, karateka Pedro Iriê was one of the highlights of the first episode. Facing Wande Lopes, the karateka from Bragança Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo, soon found the distance to land good blows and knock out his rival in the first seconds of the fight.

Luiz Besouro beats Robson Negão and advances in the dispute.

Listed as one of the biggest favorites in the dispute, the veteran Luiz Besouro proved that it could be one of the highlights of the program. With an adjusted game, the athlete from Rio controlled the actions against Robson Negão. In the stand-up fight, Luiz always responded with powerful counterattacks, while on the ground he showed all his technique to put his opponent in unfavorable positions and even risk some submission attempts. After two rounds of dominance, Besouro took the win with a unanimous decision from the judges

After the triumph, Luiz was praised by Rodrigo Minotauro. “Perhaps Besouro is the best prepared athlete in this edition of the program,” said Minotauro.

In the next episode of TUF Brasil 2, the qualifiers continue and seven more fights will be held so that the 14 fighters fighting for a contract with the UFC are known.
