UFC heavyweight representative, Boi, however, understands that his provocative form can have a positive and negative effect when it comes to fans. Thus, the fighter does not deny that, at the same time as he has admirers, he also collects dislikes. The combatant then spoke about his relationship with those who disapprove of his style of promoting duels.

“I really don't care. I read it and it's like they're talking to someone else. If the person is a public figure, they are subject to this. If you stop to absorb this, you stop living, doing your job and it ends up influencing your personal life. (…) I like to provoke, I laugh at my opponents in the middle of the fight. I'm really controversial. It’s nothing forced,” he admitted.

Willing to always put on a show in his performances, Carlos will have a special ingredient in his weekend commitment: a full arena. For the athlete, who benefits from the crowd's reaction to each aggressive movement, the audience's feedback is an additional ingredient for an exciting fight.

“I like to invite people and, you can be sure, people will like it. I am prepared to wage a 'war' with my opponent. That's what people like, isn't it? I'm already expecting that the crowd will make a lot of fun and, if it's up to me, I'll call on the fans. They can boo him, as he is American. If the crowd boos, I'll boo louder. That’s what I’m there for,” he said.

Opponent analysis

On Saturday, Boi will face an opponent who is also known for his striking. The Brazilian then analyzed the 'marriage' of styles, pointing out advantages in the confrontation.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm faster than him (Jake), I have more fighting rhythm. We saw and rewatched his fights since the 84kg category. (medium). We believe that his game matches up a lot, because, as he is a guy who likes striking, I feel more comfortable releasing my game. However, he doesn't slow down much in the fight. He stays in the stand-up, there's no punching, lots of volume. For me, it's perfect. Many heavyweights can't handle my pace. A lot of people say that I arrive tired in the third round. Maybe so, but if you look at my opponent, he's much worse,” he said.

Optimal outcome

Aiming for another positive result in Ultimate, Carlos doesn't care about a points victory. As far as the Bahian is concerned, Collier's 'fall' has the right shape and round to happen.

“In the first round, I'm not going to start with my full pace, because I like to feel my opponent. In the second, when I start to add more volume, he will give in, especially because, in his fights, he has already shown that he will give in as his hands enter. So, I see a knockout or technical knockout in the second round”, he bet.

Next appointment

If he wins another duel in the organization, Boi will confirm his good form and continue his journey towards the top 15 in the heavyweight division. To reach the goal, the Brazilian suggested names that he considers important for the achievement in the division led by Francis Ngannou.

“There's (Tai) Tuivasa, who we've exchanged a few 'nips' with, (…) Greg hardy, who I don't like and I would be very happy to beat, and Andrei Arlovksi. I think it would be a good fight. These are three names”, he concluded.
