New UFC light heavyweight king (up to 93kg.), Jan Blachowicz believes that there are no longer any doubts regarding his status as division champion. In an interview with 'Submission Radio', the Pole states that his recent achievements have removed any doubts about his qualities and called into question the future of Jon Jones in MMA. Directly, the athlete questioned 'Bones' in Ultimate.

“I think people started to respect me. (…) They know I'm the real champion now. Do you notice what Jon Jones has done now. Maybe he doesn't even fight anymore, because he thinks he's not that good. He's good, but seeing his level, we're better than he was. I think he knows and that's why he doesn't want to compete anymore. Let’s see,” Blachowicz said.
Current light heavyweight leader, Jan won the belt months after Jon relinquished the title and confirmed his move to the 120,2kg category. To reach the absolute top of the group, the Pole beat Dominick reyes with a brutal knockout, at the end of 2020.
Considered one of the best fighters of all time, Jones has not performed professionally since February of last season. Out of the Octagon for over a year, the American continues to prepare for his long-awaited heavyweight debut.
At the moment, 'Bones' has been waging a 'war' with the Ultimate board. The legend demands better payments to return to activities. The fighter is asking for a heavyweight title fight, but, according to Dana White, president of the organization, Jon's high demand makes negotiation difficult.
While Jones' situation is not defined, Blachowicz remains firm in his light heavyweight reign. After winning Israel adesanya and make his first title defense, the athlete has a new commitment scheduled for September, when he will exchange forces against Glover Teixeira, UFC 266.
