Lead by Alexander Volkanovsky e Brian ortega, the return of 'The Ultimate Fighter' almost had Amanda nunes as one of the coaches for its 29th season. In an interview with the podcast 'Real Quick with Mike Swick', Ultimate's president, Dana White, revealed that the organization's double bantamweight (up to 61,7kg) and featherweight (65,7kg) champion was even considered for the lead role in the reality show.

“As we got further into the season, we were looking at countless different scenarios as to who could train (the fighters in the new season). Amanda nunes was also being considered as one of the coaches. So you have to start calling these guys and find out what they have to do personally and everything. And then you end up with Volkanovski and Ortega in the lead,” White said.

The 29th season of The Ultimate Fighter premiered last Tuesday night (1st), with Alexander Volkanovsky e Brian ortega as program coaches. It is important to remember that the confrontation would have already taken place in UFC 260 March, if the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) did not test positive for COVID-19. As usual in his seasons, he faces the challenger at the conclusion.

Absolute in two Ultimate divisions, Amanda will put her bantamweight title on the line for the sixth time against Julianna Pena, UFC 265, which takes place on August 7th. Without losing since 2014, the Bahian, with each victory, consolidates herself as one of the biggest female MMA stars in the history of the sport.
