Bad news for Fabricio Werdum. One of the Brazilian representatives at PFL 6, which takes place on June 25th in New Jersey (USA), the veteran is out of the event. Shortly after the organization announced its fight against Brandon Sayles, he will no longer appear on the card for reasons still unknown. The information was released by 'MMA fighting'.

So far, the PFL has not yet commented on Werdum's departure nor has it announced whether there will be a replacement for the Brazilian. His first and only fight for the organization was surrounded by much controversy. Against the compatriot Renan Problem, he was knocked out in the first round, but challenged the result after a possible withdrawal by his opponent following a triangle he applied. The fight was reverted to 'no contest' by the New Jersey Athletic Commission.
Announced as the biggest signing of the season, Fabricio Werdum may not even reach the decisive stage of the playoffs. At 43 years old, the Brazilian has a record of 24 wins, nine losses, one draw and one 'no contest' in his career, which began in 2002. Considered one of the greatest heavyweights (up to 120,2kg) in history, he has triumphs in front of names like Fedor Emelianenko, Rodrigo Minotauro e Cain Velazquez, in addition to having already fought in events such as Pride, UFC and Strikeforce.
